We’re Gary and Samuel – two slightly overcommitted Sydney-siders who decided to grow our family the modern way: with love, spreadsheets, and a whole lot of science.
We’ve been together for five years, married in September 2024, and now? We’re deep in the trenches of IVF and surrogacy, trying to bring a tiny human into the world without losing our minds (or our savings account).
Some fast facts:
- Gary’s the event-planning, overthinking, “let’s start a home project we’ll never finish” one.
- Sam’s the laid-back, people-loving, secretly-too-tired-for-this-but-smiling-through-it one.
- We live for good food, better wine, and Netflix shows we absolutely never finish.
- One of us is a coffee addict. The other is wrong.
- We survived IKEA, long-haul flights, and a global pandemic.
Parenthood felt like the natural next chaos.
We started Two Dads and a Dream to document the real side of this ride; the science-y bits, the emotional moments, the awkward, expensive, deeply human stuff no one tells you about.
Once a week (and sometimes more), we’ll update the blog with where we’re at, what it actually feels like, and one fun new fact about us, because yes, your dads are a vibe.
Whether you’re a friend, family, fellow queer parent-in-progress, or just IVF-curious—we’re stoked you’re here.
Stick around. It’s about to get messy (and possibly magical).
